We’re giving away free one-month memberships to Stab Premium so that everybody can judge the Stab High final. Get yours here.

Stab Premium subscribers will decide the winner of Van Stab High, Central America, presented by Monster Energy.

We already sent the most trigger-happy emailers amongst you a free goodie bag to enhance the experience of judging the event at home. In it? A Stab High Judges shirt, a Monster Energy can, and a secret sauce that leads to a secret recipe.

Didn’t get a care package? Don’t fret, don’t weep. Because you still have the chance to win a three-board quiver from Channel Islands.

How? Just be a good judge.

The final Episode of Stab High will be streamed here on Thursday, August 12 at 6 PM PST. Head judge Nathan Fletcher and some of our very own aerial experts from the trip will feature on our live broadcast and chime in throughout the episode so you don’t get lonely.

As a Stab Premium member (get a free month here), you will have access to a widget that will enable you to score each completed air.

How to score:

In Stab High, airs are scored out of 50 points. If your brain works on a typical 1 to 10 scale, think of it like this: a 5 would be a 25, an 8 would be a 40, and a 10 would be a 50. If you’re really struggling, just multiply your 1-10 score by 5.

Every time an air is landed in the final, you’ll see a ‘score now’ button pop up on the screen. That’s where you come in. After watching a couple of replays of the completed air, it’s time to input your score. Beneath the Stab High video player, you’ll see a sliding scale from 0 to 50. Slide the widget so that it displays your desired score, then hit ‘submit’ to lock in the number. When it says ‘your score is locked’, you can scroll back up to the video player. You’ll have 20 seconds to enter your score.

For the sake of ease, we recommend watching the live stream on the computer or TV and then scoring on your phone.

How to win:

Our Stab High head judge Nathan Fletcher has gone ahead and scored all the completed airs in the final. His scores will not count toward who wins the event, but they will be used as the benchmark against which all of our judges are graded.

The judge whose scores are closest (on average) to Nate’s throughout the entirety of the Stab High final will win the three Channel Islands surfboards.

*An important thing to note for this final episode is that the scoreboard has been set to zero. All the previously awarded points have been thrown out the window, and only the airs done on the final day will decide our winner.

Well, technically, your winner.
