Brett Barley Brings Us In And Around The Biggest Skeleton Bay In Five Years

There is a large flotilla of insufferable vlogs kicking the interweb, and the surf world is not immune. 

But man, we can’t even blame them for producing these brutal e-diaries. The incentive to create engaging content (job security) is surpassed only by the difficulty of holding a camera in front of your face for six hours a day and not looking/feeling/sounding like a total asshole. 

But there are some exceptions. 

Brett Barley, in the second season of his surfy vlog (which is newly titled Life on Water), captures the essence of a strike mission to the world’s best wave. He flies on planes, he stocks up on supplies, he (kinda) saves a seal, and most importantly, he arrives at Skeleton Bay on the day of the season and watches it grow from three to four to ten feet at dark. He rides innumerable tubes and gets, maybe, the best wave of his life. 

And none of it feels icky or contrived! In fact, the main feeling this video elicited was envy, followed closely by an urge to take the trip ourselves.
