Russell Bierke And Friends From Where You’d Rather Not Be, Shipsterns

This looks terrifying. Here are two and half minutes of “no, don’t do that.” Which in turn, makes for damn good viewing. Russ Bierke, Mike Brennan, Danny Griffiths, and James Mckean attempt to tame this unruly day at Shippies in June. It’s hardly surfable, but these are men who get their kicks from riding the avalanche of a warping storm. The bar in big wave surfing’s been raised far beyond what humans should be capable of, and that’s just beautiful.
