“The Swell Coming Looks Like A Millennial Swell, So It Could Be Crazy” – Josh Kerr
Big things forecast for finals day tomorrow at the Rip Curl Cup, Padang Padang.
***UPDATE: IT’S ON! HIT THE STREAM, HERE.
We hope you enjoyed Sunday’s Rip Curl Cup appetiser, you’ve been so very patient since, now it looks like the main is on its way.
The Indian Ocean’s been very busy these last two days.
Various weather reports are telling tales of giant fetches, wild winds, and some serious motion in the ocean, that just so happens be pointing in the direction of Indonesia.
What will this mean for the half-completed Rip Curl Cup?
Fourish metres of twenty second period energy bending into Padang and a very entertaining finish to the event.
“This next swell looks scary,” Mega Semadhi told Rip Curl. “I’ve never seen a swell that big on the charts – 4.1, 4.3 meters of swell at 20 seconds? I’m just worried about my beach house at Bingin getting washed out!”
Once again we’re going to suggest you start brainstorming some excuses for breaking tomorrow’s commitments to hit the stream. Come 7am (Bali Time) we’ll know what we’re in for.
Here’s how the draw for the semi finals is looking.
