Surfer Bitten By Shark Surfing Hurricane Matthew Leftovers In Florida
“Was only a matter of time before someone got tasted by a shark today.”
One really has to exude a certain level of enthusiasm entering the post-hurricane murky waters at notoriously shark-infested New Smyrna Beach, Florida. As Matthew passed the swell cleaned and a number of opportunists took a swing over on the same stretch that experienced three shark attacks in one day just a few weeks ago.
Michael Dunphy, who’s been chasing waves up and down the coast since the storm first arrived (quite successfully in some cases), was in the water when he heard a man calling for assistance on the inside. He quickly came to the aid of Bryan Brock, the unfortunate fellow, who was bleeding and shaken after a shark had latched on to his knee.
As you may have determined by the expression and body language, the injury was minor and Bryan was released from hospital after a short checkup and underwear change.
