When Was The Last Time You Saw A Major European Football (OK, Soccer) Club Help Design A Surfboard?

Introducing Leo Fioravanti and Christiaan Bradley’s collab with Inter Milan!

It’s not every day that you see a major European football club partner with a shaper to design a surfboard.

I checked.

There is no evidence of Jon Pyzel working with Bayern on JJF’s 2022/2023 North Shore winter step-up.

Juventus and SharpEye have not designed a quad together.

If Channel Islands collaborated with Chelsea, I missed it.

So, it’s fair to suggest that Leonardo Fioravanti’s new Inter x Christiaan Bradley board is unique.

Speaking of which, here’s the spiel:

Creating an Inter x Bradley surfboards model is a celebration of everything that it means to express oneself as a Nerazzurri — a passion for performance, creative collaboration, freedom of expression. We believe not only in a deep commitment to achieving goals, but achieving them with style and flair. The Inter x Bradley surfboard is based on Bradley’s acclaimed Onya model, built to go lightning fast and manoeuvre on a dime, even when the waves are small. Footballers entertain fans with tricks and flicks, speed and power, a telepathic understanding of teammates’ interplay and a surfer does much the same; riding waves as if second nature, arriving at the right place at the right time to manoeuvre with explosive skills and perfect execution.

But above all, teamwork is at the centre of everything that makes us who we are at Inter, we elevate through combined, collaborative efforts. In this exciting new project between Inter, Bradley surfboards, Leo Fioravanti and Bradley’s entire factory team, we bring you a surfboard created in the image of Inter’s unique passion and values.

So now you can embody Nerazzurri world-renowned values, even out on the water.

Leo represented Italy in the 2020 Olympics in Japan and his 2023 CT qualification — which was confirmed after his win in Portugal — makes it very likely that he’ll be at Teahupo’o for the 2024 Games. He’s something of a celebrity in his homeland, and his connections run deep.

Example? On this week’s Stab podcast, Stace Galbraith told me about the time he found himself standing on the head of Rio de Janeiro’s Christ The Redeemer statue (yeah, that one) thanks to Leo’s relationship with a South American tire mogul.

And another? Tomorrow, I’ll be sitting with Leo club-level at an Inter Milan game. On Monday, we’re heading to Alaia Bay in Switzerland with some of Inter’s crew.

The many fruits of collaboration.
