Drawing Zeke Lau At Sunset Is Generally A Death Sentence
A look inside the Hawaiian’s quiver.
Everyone has a favorite surfboard, but when you’re as versatile as Zeke Lau, you’re probably going to have a few.
His favorites range from a personal hand-crafted 6’0 shortboard all the way up to a 10’2 Channel Islands gun. While the Pottz-inspired airbrushed flames may seem a tad corny, we can assure you that Mr. Lau’s surfing is anything but. Drawing Zeke in a heat at Sunset Beach isn’t exactly an ideal scenario for competitors. Shit, it’s no secret that his prized CI FJB model has consistently clinched him a spot on tour. That’s why he refers to it as “The Money Maker.”
And for those who enjoy a bit of inside baseball, we recently learned that “FJB” stands for “Fiji, J-Bay”. The model was originally designed for Dane Reynolds in premium surf, then Zeke Lau took the template and tweaked it slightly, resulting in the CI Happy. A board we most adore.
