Board shorts weren’t always comfortable.

Billabong’s founder Gordon Merchant found them so stiff and itchy that he set off to make the comfiest pair of board shorts ever worn. The template he used for his trunks in the 1970s was a hot commodity at the time: A pair of Wrangler jeans.

Wrangler jeans were created with the intention of cushioning the rear ends of cowboys as they bobbled up and down in their saddles. The functional pants soon became a fashion icon which we still celebrate today.

Almost 50 years later, and Billabong x Wrangler have crossed paths yet again. Their collection features threads rugged enough to handle the wild west and comfy enough so that you can surf for hours unbothered, for both men and women.
