Noa Deane And The Electric Acid Surfboard Test Hits Byron

The Australian leg of our Electric Acid Surfboard Test (starring Noa Deane) rolled through the most vogue surf town on the planet at the weekend, our adopted home: Byron Bay.

One of the country’s most favourably positioned pubs, the beach front, appropriately named, Beach Hotel was the venue, and once again we managed to hush a jammed room for the majority of our latest opus, starring one of Byron’s many adopted sons.

The weather was atrocious once again, not that we’re complaining as half the east coast was ablaze a matter of weeks ago, but it didn’t deter the determined Northern Rivers surf rabble. Danny Johnson of Wet Lettuce/Ain’t that Swell/Weak Wrap and a bunch of other things fame took on the MC role for the night, and in duet with Noz managed to simultaneously keep the crowd entertained and ward off the advances of a particularly vocal and juiced-up heckler. We gave away some beautiful prints from the project (snapped by master surf shooter Nate Leal), slurped back a few Coronas and mingled with the ever-eclectic Byron population until fatigue and lack of sleep washed over our premiere-weary bodies.

Huge thanks to the Beachie for having us, to Volcom for helping us bring surfing to the big screen (seriously, never gets old) and to Corona for keeping us lubricated. Next stop, the U, S and A.
