The Best Gals Club (2018 Edition)

It’s that time of year.

Time to write flowery words about professional surfer’s wives and girlfriends. A time to celebrate those who’s arms are adorned by women so beautiful that we can’t help but flash them in pixels and bright lights and invite you to slide through a few photos that will turn your heart to pulp. 

This year, on Best Gals Club, we have some new faces, names, and a few staples who have graced this page for a years running.

Likely, you’re not reading much of this, but already thumbing through the photos below, so we’ll pull back on the key taps.

Here’s 2018’s most gorgeous gals (in no particular order). 

…Beat still, little one. 

Kicking off this year’s Best Gals Club is French Canadian heart throb, Miss Melrose Boyer. She’s is the lady of the very lucky Cam Richards. You’ll recall Cam less than a month ago, sliding into what will go down as one of the greatest tunnels ever threaded at Pipeline. We don’t actually know much about Miss Boyer, other than she does a bit of modeling, a bit of snowboarding, horseback riding and enjoys the outdoors. That, and she is classically beautiful in a never let her leave your side kind of way. 

Jack Robinson is easily one of the most well-rounded surfers in the world, he’s completed this circle not just with his recent “Mad to the Bone” edit, but also with his Brazilian girlfriend, the lovely Julia Muniz. Julia is a model/world traveler, and, in her climate, ice could not survive a second. 

Leila Thomas is becoming a staple on the Best Gals Club, and for good reason, she’s simply stunning. She can be found on her PR platform also known as Instagram galavanting with her tube slaying Hawaiian boyfriend Kiron Jabour, in minimal clothing, looking free as a flower. After meeting Brianna Mellon, there’s not much more to say or think other than, Oh dear. Miss Mellon is the lady of Florida —> Los Angeles surfer, Oliver Kurtz. She models, and she’s positively radiant. Mr Kurtz has done quite well from himself, and according to a few friends close to him, is punching above his weight range. But hell, we’re not entirely sure what heavy weight division Brianna sits on. Goodness, she’s stunning. But we’ll stop gushing, you can peruse her Instagram here. 

Evan’s older brother, Eric’s girlfriend, Bree Kleeintop, has been a staple of this list for years now. However, Ev’s lover, Madi Decamillis has mysteriously flown under our radar, until now. Unlike a lot of our Best Gals, Madi’s presence on social media is minimal, although she sits at about 3k Instagram followers, she posts at a comfortable rate (nowhere near today’s a selfie a day keeps the doctor away prescription). There’s something about Spanish girls pluck a harps love strings. Which is why Aritz Aranburu’s Almudena, joins us for the second year running on this here page. Originally from Madrid, Miss Fernandez lives in permanent high gloss on the covers of GQ, Cosmo, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar to list a few. And like, all that fall below, she possesses an Instagram worthy of getting lost in. Oh, Miss Fernandez is also an eco-warrior, an ambassador for such projects as the Oceana Expedition, The Climate Project and Green Peace (we suggest you click this link). If you’re wondering how Aritz landed such a stunner of a gal, you’ve obviously have never stared deeply into his eyes.

Australia’s Imogen Caldwell has long been a perennial Stab muse. She’ll paddle into double-over head West Oz tubes, and absolute dazzle in front of a camera’s lens. Im is the wife of West Oz’s Cortney Brown and fits neatly into whatever backdrop she stands in front of. A quick toss through Imogen’s Instagram might make your head feel funny, but it’s wise to stay clear, as Cortney isn’t a man you want to step into the ring with. 

Curren Caples isn’t technically a professional surfer, he’s a pro skater, but we’ve ignored that for this feature, plus, he surfs at a C-grade professional level. We even did a profile feature on him a few years back. His girlfriend, Newport Beach’s Kristen Kiehnle, stands at 5’10, has long flowing brunette hair and is absolutely dazzling. She played volleyball at UCLA, and today does modeling work. And, like the rest of the ladies presented here, we recommend giving her Instagram a scroll. 

The most stylish gent to ever fall off tour, Michael February’s fiancé, Zelti Brynard, is a life of beauty. Michael recently bent the knee for his South African heartthrob during the European leg on the CT, in a romantic Portuguese setting. Zelti is a handy with a camera, even shooting a few clips that you’ve seen on Stab of Mr. February. She’s a classically beautiful brunette with an enchanting smile that complements Mikey’s relaxed vibe.

Ain’t she just adorbs?! 

It’s not a Best Gals club without the wife of Patrick Gudang, Miss Hanalei Reponty-Gudauskas. Hanalei is handy on a surfboard. Her long legs, blonde hair and figure is best served  sprinkled in sand and she runs a bikini and wetsuit line by the name of Abyss. “A collection of wetsuits and bikinis made for women who are tomboys are heart and believe the ocean is a magic place.” She’s the mermaid of Tahiti.

Adoration isn’t love, but it’s close. 

Lauryn Cribb is the lady of the elusive 2x World Champion Mr. John Florence. Hailing from Australia, Lauryn doesn’t spend most her time posting on social media, although when she does, she reminds the world she’s a thing of beauty. With only 16 posts in 2018, she’s almost as mysterious as her lover. And we like that. 

Three to the beach and little air-revos might impress the groms at your locale. But, rushing over the ledge at Mavs gets the girls. Or, at least that may be the case for Wilem Banks, the lucky man behind the brunette stunner, Devon Powers, and wipeout of 2017 nominee. While Wilem spends his time chasing the biggest swells around the world, Devon spends her time time living a full-life of being drop-dead-gorgeous. 

Miss Strother hails from Los Angeles, California and is the lady of North Shore, and Namibia tube enthusiast Koa Smith. She’s graced the pages of the Sport Illustrated Swimsuit editions, and once called New York City her home. Now, Jessica resides back in Los Angeles, working as a fashion model. She’s got an almond complexion that when mixed with her smile is a recipe for a thousand broken hearts.
