Stab Recommends: Summer is Coming Edition
Protect ya neck, face and sanity.
Summer requires a whole new set of tools.
As Sydneysiders who’ve recently re-located to the Northern Rivers, the creeping in of summer has made the need for specific equipment clear. The rife sun’s extra bite, the incessant wind, and we haven’t even reached the dreaded influx of our tentacled friends Physalia Physalis, but they surely can’t be far away. In keeping with this seasonal revelation, we’ve compiled a list of everyday items that’ll (potentially) keep a few years off, and make summer altogether a more pleasant experience.
Premium Visage Protection
We’re all guilty at times, but there’s not much worse than ageing before your time. Shade have really done their ingredients homework, and their mineral screen is the perfect blend of clinging to your face in a protective layer, whilst not feeling like you need a jackhammer to pry it off.
Protect ya face (you’ve only got one).
Summer Surf Getup
Even at summer’s peak early morning and dusk aren’t the Caribbean. Long arm short leg (spring!?) suits keep the core warm, the sun off the back, and leave you with a tan no more suspect than that of the humble boardshort. There are no losers.
Never too late to try something new.
On-Trend Sun Hat
You can either do bucket hats or you can’t (if you wear glasses they make you look more National Lampoon than Ocean Colour Scene). If you’re one of the lucky ones then this copper corduroy number is perfect for keeping the sun off your beak.
Invest in a worthy summer companion.
Handy Summer Sack
If you live on the coast then your slice gets more populated during the summer months. It’s just how humans work. Therefore, you need to get away. This handy pack from Depactus is the perfect day pack: ideal for campin’, fishin’ and surfin’.
Good bags aren’t just for summer.
‘Can’t Resist a Collab’ Trunks
Garments produced in conjunction with another brand makes them 35 percent more interesting. Vissla’s collab trunk with Hawaiian Heritage flipper brand Da Fin is everything that’s right about a two brand blend: non-garish, practical, with intricate trimmings.
Something just that little bit different.
