Photolyfe: Matt Smith
A Los Angeles affair.
Welcome to PhotoLyfe, in which Stab’s favourite photographers answer questions about themselves with their own images. It’s that old picture-tells-a-thousand-words chestnut but with more colour and pop. It’s a way to cut out all the bullshit. It’s like jacking into the main vein of those who supply us with exquisite surf imagery every day. Give thanks by studying each image with a more careful eye than ever!
Now allow us to introduce our dear friend, Matt Smith, born and bred in Los Angeles. Home to traffic, close-outs, magnificent tacos, and this fine young lensman. Inside his portfolios a pleasant blend of skate, surf, portraits, and street shot on 35, 120, and digital… and no film’s not dead, yet. Matt’s been doing some freelance jazz for us for a little over a year; so we figured it was time to describe is life, in photos… so dig in.
