Gallery: We Had A Few Drinks On A School Night

To premiere Jay Davies’ new film, “Native.”

Yeah, yeah. Another surf clip hit the web. But Native’s different. Not only does it feature Jay Davies, a gent who rarely drops an edit, but it’s an absolute, for lack of a better term, banger. “We haven’t put any lifestyle in because I wanted to show the rawness of every person in the film,” Jay told Stab in a previous discussion. “I just want to entertain.” And that, Native does.

Seeing as Jay’s a close friend of Stab, we gave Native the red carpet treatment it deserves on Wednesday night at Stab’s Bondi HQ. We sent out the invite and urged everyone to bring their friends, a message well received judging by the crowd spilling onto the street. Also spilling: Generously-dispensed gratis liquor. Part of which was provided courtesy of Honest Ale, Jay’s new beer label he started with West Oz pals Taj Burrow and Dino Adrian. Honest was the beverage of choice for most in attendance, and it wasn’t an uncommon sight to see someone digging shoulder deep into an ice-filled Yeti to fish out the last of the bunch towards the end of the night.

Free beer makes for dusty mornings. But we wouldn’t want it any other way. Swipe though the gallery above to see Jay, Taj, and all the other pretty faces in attendance. Then, after you’re done, watch (or, rewatch!) Native below.
