Gallery: Bondi Came To Life Last Night
Here’s what you missed from Misfit and Stab’s Gould St Soiree.
It started early.
Shaper Dave Howell pulled up to Stab and Misfit’s shared residence with boards under his arm, splashed with designs from Rad Dan and Jack Irvine, the art geeks of their extended family. While Dave arranged his creations, more of their clan came stomping up the stairs, en route to the stacked Yet.
The folk at Philter had left a package for us earlier in the day, a pallet of XPA, Session Ale and Lager, all of which had been ravaged before the premiere had even kicked off. The Sessions (a favourite of Mr Asher Wales) dried up first.
The distraction of beer and fresh company in the Stab office had us dropping tools early. Tins were snapped open and the floor was cleared for the evening ahead.
Misfit were offering deals on new boards downstairs while the projector coughed and spluttered trying to load up the latest season of ‘LIVES’, the brand’s ongoing web series, which they planned to premiere later that evening.
By 5pm poke bowls (courtesy of our pals at FishBowl) were handed out, Rad Dan hit play on the decks and the crowd spilled out onto the sidewalk.
The office heaved at the peak of the evening as the piece played out across the wall. It was hard not to join the cheering watching the Misfit fam having such a sensation time surfing and experiencing the perks of Sri Lanka.
After the lights came back on things got hazy, the Yeti was drained, a few shady looks were fired from concerned local residents and eventually the crowd dispersed down Gould Street.
Stay tuned for the online release of more LIVES episodes from Misfit here on Stab.
