The Burden Of Truth: On Making The Andy Irons Documentary
On the three-year journey making “Andy Irons: Kissed By God” and how the “access and honesty the Irons family provided became a process of healing in itself.”
A week from today, on Thursday, May 31, the much-anticipated documentary, “Andy Irons: Kissed By God” will make it’s its global premiere, showing in more than 500 theaters nationwide for one night only.
With tickets selling out fast, fans of the late three-time World Champion will be interested to know just how Teton Gravity Research was able to get such candid and open testimonies from Kelly Slater, Mick Fanning, Cory Lopez, Joel Parkinson, and especially Lyndie and Bruce Irons, whose honesty and vulnerability on camera will leave you gutted.
“It’s definitely the most important project we’ve ever worked on,” said TGR co-founder the film’s co-director Steve Jones.
With the World Premieres coming up very soon, our friends in Brooklyn, Tyler Breuer and Ben Pomeroy of Swell Season, sat down with partner in all things TGR, Andy Irons: Kissed By God co-director Todd Jones, for a terrific conversation about the making of the film, and how the “access and honesty the Irons family provided became a process of healing in itself.”
