Man alive, meet Panama! Five men who make music together, Future Classic’s newest signing, and creators of a sound Stab‘s fond of. A mix of yacht rock, house, and everything fun. They just released an EP, It’s Not Over, which was recorded in LA with DFA’s Eric Broucek, and it’s kinda all you need for an Australian summer. Heartbeat would’ve enjoyed high rotation at the Hacienda 20 years ago. The business end of It’s Not Over, with Jim from Hot Chip’s tribal beat, is hard not to dig. One Piece should be played by your water taxi captain, complimented by bubbly. Stop The Fire drives like an Italo but handles like an Australian. Actually, the early-2000s Modular influence is payed respects (Cut Copy and Van She, especially) in We Have Love and Magic. You’ve gotta know where you came from to know where you’re going, right?
