Mitzi have been described as garage disco and NYC indie with the light-heartedness of Australian pop. But Stab totally hears punk-funk in there, too! Whatever genre-confusion you wanna throw at it, Dominiqe Bird, Jad Lee, Charlie Murdoch and Cale Suesskow have something kinky going on. The organic rhythm section compliments the warm, analog top end and vocal harmonies much in the way crushed ice compliments a tequila sunrise. This’d be as thrilling at a late night social as it would in the player of a stolen Caddy humming down a sun-drenched freeway. If that don’t warm your cold heart, then it’s time to start swinging an ice pick.

Future Classic, the record haus that Mitzi calls home, is kinda the perfect title, since Mitzi are making classics for the future. But more presently, Mitzi flowed Stab a fistful of jams for a Stab FM playlist. There’s a little something for everyone (much like their own originals), and Stab recommends you enjoy with warm suds any day of the week, but especially between Wednesday and Sunday.
