Watch: This Grower Bomb Looks Like 12-Foot Pipe

Nate Behl’s 2019 stint in Indonesia, plus a stupendous wave from Deserts this week.

Watch all you like, but it’ll be sometime before the laymen can enjoy waves like this again. Cashed up surfers sneak in via peculiar visas and all sorts, but for most of us, particularly Australians, we won’t be surfing waves outside our country (perhaps not even our state) for the foreseeable future.

The above from Nate Behl is pre-Covid (2019 to be precise), but it’s still very worthy viewing – whether you’re a masochist or just like to watch surfing.

Nate did, however, work his way back to Indo recently, nabbing an absolute bomb at Deserts last week while the rest of the surfers watched in bewilderment from the beach (see below). It takes a special kind of person to paddle out with just one other human in the water on a day like this, let alone wrangle what looks like a 12-foot Pipe bomb and exit through the D-door.
