Caroline Marks grew up just blocks from the beach in Melbourne, Florida. She picked up surfing at the age of 10. By age 15, she’d won 15 national titles and qualified for the CT. That’s a solid five years.

Her competitive drive is extraordinary, though not surprising when you consider her childhood. Caroline grew up in a hyper-competitive family with brothers that surfed. The mock heats in Melbourne seemed like the world back then. Which is kind of funny because, at 17 years old, Caroline qualified for the Olympic Games.
