Watch: The Best Of Mason Ho’s North Shore Winter, So Far

Mason’s popularity exceeds his likeable, irreverent personality. It lies in the way he looks at waves and his edits highlight the difference in Mason’s surfing from his peers. And as viewers, that difference is what we long for; it’s distant from the rehearsed ballet prevalent on the QS and CT. It’s the same thing that separates John Florence and Dane Reynolds from the crowd: unpredictability. What’s lovely about Mase is he looks at a sider wedge the same way as he does second reef Pipeline. He finds a new line to draw, displays new perspective the result is something pleasing. His creative flow is what’s made him a people’s favourite, that and some of the most memorable claims and post heat interviews in recent world tour history.
