Watch: (Mostly) Unseen Footage Of John Florence In Western Australia
John shares 11 minutes of tubes, turns, and surprisingly few airs at his home away from home.
John Florence has said on multiple occasions that Western Australia is his favorite place to be outside of Oahu.
He likes the climate, the terrain, its remote and empty nature, but mostly, John likes the waves in West Oz, which are similarly powerful to those on the North Shore but with a 180-degree wind tilt, meaning he can finally do airs on a right (Kona days excluded).
Nevertheless, in this 11-minute clip of mostly unseen footage, there are surprisingly few punts—we counted two, but maybe your eyes are keener.
John’s lack of flight left ample time for cauterizing hacks and playful, slabby tubes (if there is such a thing), plus cameos from Kolohe, car troubles, and a complacent tennis match.
You’d be silly not to watch.
