Watch: John John Florence’s 2013 Epic, “Done” In Its Entirety
Paywall removed, O’Neill stickers placed, just as stunning as it was six years ago.
John Florence just dropped a new Vlog, it’s really good and will be posted on the site soon.
But in the discovery of John’s newest video upload, we found a delicately painted Easter Egg that halted all production in the Stab office for roughly 24 minutes.
That egg is John Florence and Blake Keuny’s 2013 masterpiece, Done.
We won’t spend too much time on this, as you should be already watching it above if you’ve got the time to kill, but it’s worth noting that Done was filmed before John signed onto the high-performance, big contract Mecca of Hurley. It features Albee Layer’s first recorded near-near-make of the double spin in West Oz (18:18), a noodley Nathan Florence pre-air camp and leg days, an ultra-fresh soundtrack, and what was one of, if not the biggest air we’ve seen on our digital screen (:35) at the time.
The Tahiti section at 7:26 accompanied by a rather gangstaaa track by Killer Mike is pure anxiety and bliss.
While JJF had been the boy to watch for years, Done was the moment he became the man who stole surfing’s collective heart.
Tap the triangle.
