Watch: Jack Robinson Is Invited To The Churrasco

Brazil is larger than the entire continental United States.

The wavepool at Boa Vista Village sits on a plot of land half the size of Manhattan.

The wavepool at Boa Vista also has two equally scrumptious air sections.

Once completed, the entire Boa Vista development will house up to 45,000 people, with homes ranging from $2 million to $8 million and rent being as expensive as $21,000 a month. This is a true and proper moneyed metropolis for Brazil’s 0.01%, all built around a surf commodity.

Sixty-two mile away sits another Perfectswell pool — São Paulo Surf Club — which has, in the words of Jacob “Zeke” Szekely, the “best air section in the world”. While both of these pools have differences, they have one thing in common: it takes a $100,000+ membership to get your feet in the wax.

However, on rare occasion, these two wavepools let CT surfers in for some free marketing. Usually, the surfers are those within striking distance of the pool: Italo Ferreira, Arthur Vilar, the Pupo brothers, etc. But this time around, after the Saquarema CT event, the pools let in some outsiders on the Red Bull team: Jack Robinson, Kanoa Igarashi, Ladybird alumnus Tya Zebrowski, and Luana Silva.

As an aside, props to Jack Robinson. The man has — à la Fast and Furious’s Brian O’Conner — given white boys around the world a tutorial on how to properly, respectfully marry into a culture as different from his remote, sleepy Western Australian hermitage as humanly possible. Jack speaks decent Portuguese, has a fan base in Brazil, and spends long stretches of the year in his wife’s maiden nation.

The man just posted a video on his YouTube channel titled, “Is Brazil The Best Place In The World?” Class.
