Watch: Coco Cairns In ‘Last Act’
A surf edit featuring Chaka Khan and Kelly Slater.
Bluesfest Byron Bay 2025 was marketed as the grand farewell. One last waltz for a much-loved Australian festival. Predictably, tickets flew.
Then, not long after the gates opened, they announced they’d be back in 2026.
A heartfelt backflip or just a well-timed cash grab dressed in nostalgia?
It doesn’t matter much, really. Whatever the angle, the festival delivered a Coco Cairns surf edit.
“Last act was built off right handers with a soundtrack inspired by the last act at Blues Fest earlier this year,” says Coco. “I like to pull out my phone when I hear a song I want to watch surfing to, and in this case, I re-filmed it off the phone to add character.”
Last Act showcases Coco’s ease across multiple crafts — from the tropics to Snapper, with cameos from Lungi Slabb and Slates. Both of them oddly gifted on oddly shaped boards, as evidenced here and here.
