Vans Stab High, Non-Chlorine, Presented By Monster Energy Premieres Tomorrow

TLDR: – Episode 1 of our four-part Vans Stab High, Non-Chlorine, presented by Monster Energy “Non-Chlorine” edition airs 7pm PST Dec 2 on stabmag.com. – Episodes 1 and 2 will be free to watch (courtesy of Vans). Episodes 3 & 4 will be PPV. – All episodes will air on ESPN 2’s World Of X Games starting Dec 6. Vans Stab High, Non-Chlorine, presented by Monster Energy is back, and this time we’re moving from the pool to the sea.  In the midst of a pandemic, the ocean is one of the few places we feel safe, let alone sane. Vans Stab High, Non-Chlorine takes that concept to an extreme, assembling a crew of the world’s most progressive (and covid-negative) surfers and setting sail for Indonesia.  “We love the pool, but Vans Stab High was always going back to the ocean,” says Stab founder Sam McIntosh. “Our goal is to find the biggest, ugliest sections imaginable.” Over the course of a 10-day boat trip through the Mentawai Islands—surfing’s original wavepark—Vans Stab High, Non-Chlorine, presented by Monster Energy seeks to shatter all previous aerial benchmarks. Bigger, faster, higher, and more technical is what we’re after.    Devoted to above-the-lip surfing, judges Nathan Fletcher and Mikey February signed on to score every air of the trip. Basing their scores on amplitude, style, and progression, from launch to landing, every aspect of the maneuver will be scrutinized on a scale of 1 to 10.  “We’re here to ensure these guys and girls push surfing’s boundaries,” says aerial pioneer Nathan Fletcher. “And put them in their place when they misbehave.” Each surfer’s highest-scoring right and left air will count toward their total score. Whoever finishes the trip with the highest two-wave total will become the Stab High winner and $12,000 richer.  On top of this, every surfer will also have an opportunity to win Vans Stab High’s Monster Air Award presented by Monster Energy. The prize goes to the highest, most generally outrageous air of the trip. There’s another $3,000 up for grabs in the Vans Ladybirds division, which features four of the most talented and air-minded (but not air-headed) young women in surfing. World-class talent from around the world has got onboard for Vans Stab High, Non-Chlorine, presented by Monster Energy. In the men’s division, the list of competitors includes:  Al Cleland, Tanner Gudauskas, Eric Geiselman, Matt Meola, Ian Crane, Crosby Colapinto, Brendon Gibbens, Sebastian Williams, Kevin Schulz, Bronson Meydi and Rio Waida The Vans Ladybirds lineup includes:  Caitlin Simmers, Bella Kenworthy, Erin Brooks, Sierra Kerr Episodes 1 and 2 of our four-part Vans Stab High, Non-Chlorine, presented by Monster Energy series will premiere for free on stabmag.com (first ep: 7pm Dec 2) courtesy of Vans.
