Torrey Meister Lives for Shallow Reefs and Big Tunnels

As is consistent with cats that grow up on the Pacific’s great island chain, they tear every genre of wave. Here, we get Mr Torrey Meister, from the Big Island, at home, getting shacked at Jaws and the North Shore’s most notorious Pipe. Here, home and right now! 

“I had so much fun making this edit with Torrey,” says filmmaker Nick Green. “He’s such a good dude and loves to work. He really wanted me to use a country song but we all know that wouldn’t have gone well,” he laughs. “Torrey shoot 80 percent of the lifestyle part of this clip. He borrowed a friend’s camera, woke up at four am to drive the entire island shooting scenics by himself. He’s never really shot video before and couldn’t figure out how to put the plate on the tripod. It was pretty classic. Overall he killed it. The Big Island’s such a cool place, it’s pretty hard to fuck up!”
