This Is The Epitome Of Southern Californian Surf In Summer
With a self-shaping alt board master.
Troy Elmore shares many similarities with Ryan Burch.
Both hail from Southern California.
Both are goofy-foots.
Both shape their own boards.
Both ride boards ranging from classical logs, to asyms, to miniature twins, neglecting only the standard thruster in their robust quivers.
But Ryan and Troy differ in one meaningful capacity—Ryan is a well-established figure in the broader surfing world (his performance in Psychic Migrations made sure of that).
Troy, perhaps by his own preference, surfs in relative anonymity. He’s the guy you see down the beach, surfing alone, in a hood, that makes you ask, to no one in particular: “Who the hell is that?”
After scanning various blank faces in the lineup, one guy answers, “Oh, that’s Troy Elmore.”
So, this is Troy Elmore. Get acquainted above.
