The West Is (Still) The Best
Kai Hing and Shaun Manners spend a week sampling the fruits of the west.
A little reminder that there are still real waves left in the world. At this point in time we may be a little enamoured with our first ever surf event, but our true love still rests in watching people surf proper waves.
Shaun Manners is lucky enough to live in the wave-rich Margaret River region, and Kai Hing was fortunate enough to spend a week with Chun sampling what continually draws surfers back to the West.
It’s the second instalment in a collection of edits centred around the website www.sul.ninja that Kai and his filmer, Luka Raubenheimer created. This edit, SUA TAN, is a stark reminder of how crisp editing and direction can accentuate the qualities of a clip.
Fuck, even a curated soundtrack alone can launch a short to something more substantive.
I watched it twice. You should too.
