Here it is, The Pick-Up, your weekly fix of surf content from the North Shore. A Stab x Vans’ weekly variety show airing every Wednesday, shot on location on the North Shore of Oahu for the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing.

Digital Triple Crown Update
These are by far the best waves we have seen in a single Triple Crown. Griffin Colapinto seems to be stacking a minimum of 10 keeper clips a day, which isn’t a surprise since he surfs for 15 hours at a time. Despite being a guest on the Island, he has sure bagged numerous keepers during his stay.
Last-minute entries are going to be wild. So far, only 8 surfers have all 6 of their waves uploaded. Expect an influx of mind-blowing entries just before the deadline, January 15th.

Verdict: Pretty darn flat. According to Owl, “A flat bottom is the fastest thing there is.” Dane described the board as ‘built to fly.’ Steph highlighted the low stance needed to turn the board, which she executed flawlessly.
Sheepside Skatepark Tour With Nathan Fletcher.
The North Shore’s community DIY skatepark. Steep, compact, and a mini loop of death. This park isn’t for the weary, and you certainly won’t find any scooter kids here. If you can’t handle the heat, grab your quick Instagram picture, and step out of the kitchen.
Cliff Kapono is smart.
Not just for a surfer, either. With a doctorate in Ocean Chemistry, he has focused his efforts on protecting the coral reefs. At the same time, Cliff still loves to surf. Although he may not be taking a swing at the QS, he is competing in this year’s Triple Crown.
