North Shore Residency Has Done Wonders For Jordy Smith’s Tube Aptitude

Jordy Smith has just entered his fourth decade of existence and what does he have to show for it?

A beautiful wife, an enviable sneaker collection and a self-proclaimed “donkey dick”, sure, but no World Title. And becoming the best in the world at something, even if it’s as silly as boardsliding on a band of ocean energy, is just the sort of thing that guys with beautiful wives and enviable sneaker collections and “donkey dicks” tend to obsess over. 

Which, in Jordy’s case, manifested in him buying a house on Oahu’s North Shore to practice the main weakness in his performance skillset. 

A recent Log Cabins purchase has seen Jordy spending significantly more time on the famed sand strip, subsequently quintupling his backside tube time and making him a more viable Title contender.

Remember when Jordy kinda, almost, possibly beat Gabriel Medina in the Pipe Masters semis this past December? Expect more and more performances like that from the African in years to come, thanks in large part to his recent real estate commitment.

Oh yeah, and the other O’Neill guys surf pretty well too.
