No Nonsense Vlogging With Julian Wilson
Win or lose, Jules is locked in.
If you wanna be a Pipe Master, you’re gonna have to work for it.
Pipeline is one of the few waves on tour where local knowledge can be as important as raw talent. This is evidenced by it being Kelly’s premier event into his late 40’s, the lack of ‘surprising’ event winners and the abundance of wildcard talent that’s found success at the famed spot.
For Episode 3 of Red Bull Surfing’s latest ‘Following’ series we get an inside look at Julian Wilson’s 2020 Pipeline preparation. Julian methodically breaks down each warm-up session with coach and former Cter Luke Egan. In what feels like the camp boxers enter before a big bout, it’s clear that it’s all business for the Aussie duo, accounting for all possible variables from the length of Julian’s JS blades to his growing willingness to pack bombs with each session.
Despite Julian falling to a red hot Jack Robbinson in the R32, don’t sleep on this former Pipe Master and Triple Crown Champ as we head into Sunset. With 3+ weeks between events just imagine how much practice he can get in before January 19th…
