No Contest: Are Women And Children Running Pipeline?
Let’s investigate.
In episode one of No Contest Hawaii, we learned what localism looks like in today’s day and age.
In episode two, we learn that while localism remains alive and well, the North Shore has become a space of non-normative acceptance. This is best expressed by the sheer number of women and children that regularly surf Pipeline. While a decade ago you could count those figures on one hand, today you’d need a few extra sets of toes.
And lest we forget the event that refused to falter this winter, the Digital Vans Triple Crown. Won convincingly by John Florence and Carissa Moore, the non-time-crunched aspect of the event allowed the superior talents to shine through. There’s no mistaking who the alphas are on Oahu North’s Shore.
That’s all from us. See you next year, Hawaii.
