The surfer who defined bogan cool drops another sizzling, no-holds-barred edit.
Mikey Wright, the CEO of middle fingers and Chair Member on the Bogan Cool, had himself an exhilarating winter on the North Shore.
He quickly shifted roles from Director of Photography to heart throb hero in a @Kookslams Screenplay in Hawaii, before sending his name and Instagram following to the stratosphere.
But it’s Mikey’s hostile approach to riding waves that produces strong feels. Whether it’s root or rage, Mikey’s once-a-year(ish) edits are the perfect intersection of power, spontaneity and risk. This year’s edit takes place mostly on the North Shore and Mikey himself was cut-throat at keeping these clips off Instagram before this short film released. He texted our No Contest team in Hawaii and asked to keep the waves from our edit for this one, to which we happily obliged.
Fun fact: Mikey spent the entirety of this past winter sporting one single pair of boardshorts – ocean, land, day or night – and put them through one hell of a durability test.
