Luke Davis And The Chip-Shot To End All Chip-Shots
Here comes the gorilla bowl.
He may ride a pink board, but Luke Davis ain’t no pussy.
On the biggest swell to hit Caribbean Panama in over a decade, Luke Davis packed his trusty 6’6, hopped on several planes, and paddled out to a wave that once terrified the 11x World Champ.
Only Luke’s swell was much, much bigger.
While fearsome, the one advantage to the size was the chip-shot entry it provided. This foamy burst would then hit the inside bowl and transform into a demonic cement mixer of a tube.
Having studied this wave for years, Luke seemed to have the best eye for those roll-in entries, leading to a handful of successful rides (which is a lot—just ask anyone who’s surfed the joint).
Your three-minute thrill ride lives here.
