Kolohe Andino’s First Edit In Two Years Is Required Viewing
Drift into the J-Bay dreamscape.
Kolohe Andino has had one track on his mind: The World Tour. He’s muted the noise, is strictly surfing and that’s how it’s been for a while. Because of this, two years have passed since Kolohe’s released a web edit… which for how prominent a figure Mr Andino’s become in the world of surf, is surprising. Back to the Basics by Jacob Vanderwork was filmed over Brother’s first few days at Jeffreys Bay and it’ll make any poor sap long for peeling righthand walls. Here, he looks to be channeling his favourite surfer ever, Mick Fanning, and taking it easy on the blow tails and air-revos.
In the days leading up to South Africa, Kolohe prepped at Huntington Beach. Where he copped standup tubes into the northside of the pier once the Puerto Swell that green lit the WSL big wave event made its way up to Southern California. Kolohe looks as apt as any at J-Bay. He’s placed against Ace Buchan and Jaddy Andre in round one, and word from the cape is the comp’s likely to run tomorrow.
