Welcome back to Knife Collection, a Stab series that’s all about the crafts our favourite surfers use to slice blank canvas with. Today we delve into John John Florence’s Gold Coast quiver. Given the drastic difference in conditions we’ve seen over the last fortnight at the Superbank (five days of pumping cyclone swell straight into 10 days of excruciating flatness), competitors have gotta come well-prepared for the Quiksilver Pro. Here, John John talks us through his current setup, which includes The Bastard, which he rode at Lowers and France, and will ride for most of this year. It’s his go-to for rippable waves, and works from two to 12 feet.
