Here’s How Many Sharks Were In San Clemente Yesterday

Wild helicopter footage from the OC Sheriff Department.

The folks at the Orange County Sheriff’s Department took the chopper for a spin yesterday. This time, they weren’t looking for the man who dunked a grom at Salt Creek. They were looking for something with a little more bite.

This video, released by the department, shows you slightly less than three minutes of San Clemente ocean. If you live in the area, it’s in your best interest to not count the sharks. As a matter of fact, Stab recommends you click out of this page immediately. Bonne chance.

While shark sightings have seen an alarming spike in Southern California lately, it’s worth noting that there has only been one attack since #SharkFever began and it was non-fatal. If things get ugly, though, we’ve seen enough war movies to believe that the OCSD has the capability to fire missiles at sharks with reckless abandon — what else could that green target be for?
