Imogen Caldwell is many things—surfer, model, dog owner etc.—but chief among them is a grizzled Northwest-Australian tube wrangler. 

Need further proof that gals are not only willing, but also more than capable of paddling, negotiating, and escaping the claws of an eight-foot funnel? Look no further than the video above, featuring Imogen in her homeland and ultimate happy place, where the dirt is red and the nearest hospital is hundreds of kays away. 

Now, as anyone who’s ever seen a picture of themselves in a tube knows, something about the intensity and beauty of this natural coccoon brings out all of our worst surfing habits. Poor posture, hideous positioning, that weird thing with your knee, and lest we forget that god awful facial expression. 

Well, seemingly none of this applies to Imogen.

Having spent a majority of her childhood under the unmistakably azure lipline of northern WA lefthander, it appears that Imogen’s honed her stance, style, and mid-tube grin specifically for Morgan Maassen’s lens, as she passes him elegantly in successive rides.
