Gabe Morvil's Portugese Smorgasbord - Stab Mag

Gabe Morvil’s Portugese Smorgasbord

All the clips from a pre-covid trip with Metal Neck.

Words by Zack Raffin

Gabe Morvil is slept on.

The 21-year-old North Carolina native has an impressive, polished game that doesn’t see nearly enough daylight in today’s hyper-saturated content void. Thankfully for us, Metal Neck’s Matt Tromberg as put together an amalgamation of all of Gabe’s clips from their latest trip Portugal trip, meaning for every beautifully framed carve, there is an equally brutal suplex into European sand.

Gabe grew up with with Bo Raynor as a sparring partner, plus a long list of amazing surfers from his area to look up to in North Carolina’s peaky, powerful beach breaks. A windblown day on the Outer Banks isn’t dissimilar to some of the Supertubos sessions you see above. Gabe’s ability to scoop, twist, and bend against unruly sections is clearly something he brought with him on his stint across the pond.

A little known fact about Gabe is that he is the 2016 NSSA Explorer Men’s National Champion. With a style that’s suited both for competition as well as bagging explosive, entertaining clips, the future is bright for the young buck, whose height and length adds that extra oomph to his carves that money can’t buy.

Click above to watch his Portugese Smogarsbord, highlights include his battle for a backside indy at 2:30 and his first pump at 3:43. Sheeeeeeeeesh.
