French Beachies, A 20-Year Old Twin-Fin, And Adrien Toyon
This will make you want to dust off your childhood board, although we doubt it’ll go this well.
This clip of Adrien Toyon in France is worthy of its own merit; Offshore beachies, effortless gliding, and a tonne of envy-inducing waves.
But what made this short stand out amongst the clutter was the board. A 20-year old Lightning Bolt twin shaped by Graham Smith.
“That was my first ever surfboard. When I was 9 years old, my parents gave me it for Christmas, almost 20 years ago. I found it again in my parents house in the Reunion Islands and I brought it here.” Adrien said. “Then it spent some long time in my garage looking at me hahaha…That single concave and sharp lines were perfect on this day. Never thought I was going to surf this board again, and even more in this kind of waves.”
Watch the clip above and no doubt consider dusting off your own polyurethane debut. It’s worth it for the nostalgia alone.
