Did An 11-Year-Old Just Do Surfing’s First Front Flip?
Cruz Dinofa is coming for Matt Meola’s head.
I hate that acronym, NBD. In the skating (and more recently, surfing) world it stands for “Never Been Done.” Growing up twiddling my thumbs on my T-Mobile Sidekick, it meant “No Big Deal,” but those days are long gone.
Cruz Dinofa’s self-proclaimed backside frontflip (have fun arguing over this one) might be the new definition of NBD, but not the old.
It’s worth noting that Matt Meola did a rotation that was nearly identical a few years back.
This rotation, whatever the proper classification, is a big deal. Nathan Fletcher hovered over my shoulder as I opened this file and ruled it as the following:
“Fuck, I don’t know. Maybe a backside corkscrew?”
Whatever it is, it’s absurd, especially at such a young age.
