For stop two of the World Surf League Countdown Series the eligible Aussies headed North (for most) to the sand rich stretch that on its day produces some of the most electric-blue caverns on the planet.
To get to the bottom of this curious set up (with no legitimate locals) we sent Stab’s man on the ground Danny Johnson to find out everything that goes into a great day of Straddie surfing. What leads to the magic equation of sand, swell and wind, who gets the deepest tubes, who’s the biggest menace on a jet ski, everything you’d want to know about one of the most photographic and cinematically friendly waves on the planet.
