Carlos Muñoz surfs his first world tour event

Back in August, Carlos Muñoz won the 2014 Hurley Pro at Lower Trestles video trials and earned a wildcard into the event. Social media contests became a national pledge and no one came close to beating him in any round. And with that he became the first ever Central American surfer to surf in a World Tour event. For surfing, it was a testament to the sport’s international growth. For Carlos, it was an honour, a thrill, a challenge, a chance to see where he stands in the grand scheme of things and so much more. And did we mention that as a wildcard, he’d have to surf against the highest seed in the event?
