Californian Power Teens Run Laps At J Bay
Dimitri Poulos and Lucas Owston opt for some good old-fashioned squat-thrusting
We all dream of surfing a decent swell at J Bay.
Some of us goofy footers even get really creative and theorize an alternate universe where the tempting point break is a left.
In reality, if we ever got the chance to meet the South African gem, we’d spend most of our time going straight. After two or three turns, our legs, which are conditioned strictly for abrupt waist-high closeouts, would depress into a gelatin-like substance.
I believe J Bay is a wave meant to be surfed by the fully capable while appreciated by us civilians from a distance. Take Dimitri Poulos and Lucas Owston, for example. They’re two youngsters from California that bring a solid rail game to the table and seem to have endless energy.
