Bali’s Most Fickle Right-hander Goes Nitro
This is rare.
Most places have one: that fickle, almost-never-good spot that, on its day (which happens every five years or so), is genuinely world-class.
Bali, as you’d have to be literally dead not to know, is home to some of the most consistently flawless waves on earth. Ulus is good 300 days a year, Keramas maybe 150, Canggu always has a ramp, and then there’s Padang, Bingin, and a few other majestic spots that ignite when the swell is thumping. But the joint you see above, while clearly spectacular, is one of the most infrequently functional surf spots on earth.
Which is what makes this score by Nic Von Rupp and Marco Giorgi extra special. It’s like spotting a snow leopard in the Sahara, or winning an argument with your missus. Enjoy!
