Your Sunday Stoke-Inducing Edit
Average waves, surfed well to stoke you out amongst the midsummer slop.
There’s more to a worthwhile edit than good surfing. The soundtrack has to be right, the waves either pumping (or relatable), and if all else fails, well, it has to make you want to surf. The above edit courtesy of Nick Colclough featuring Nathan Cook makes the cut on a few fronts.
It mightn’t be comparable to some CT star’s hi-fidelity edit, or feature waves which compel you towards skyscanner.com, but it features a bunch of good surfing in waves that are very, very relatable right now. See, watching someone surf eight-foot freight trains doesn’t stoke you out to surf when your local offering is 2-3 foot shit, with a hungry Sunday post-holiday crowd.
‘Grounded’, however, manages to do that. A bunch of fun, but sloppy waves given a couple of whacks and jumps all cut to an enjoyable tune. It’s not essential viewing, but it might be what you need to stoke you out on a hungover Sunday.
