By now you’ve seen Mick, Taj and Joel’s musings about their old CT partner in crime, Kai Otton. It was initially a little 5-minute Kai snippet, but since the crowds consumed it so well (three times more views than the second highest post!) we’ve decided to unveil the extended cut – featuring a number of previously unseen juicy questions!

Stab and Reef premiered the extended cut just last week at the Balter Brewery in Currumbin with an inexorable supply of beer and burgers at the ready. Kai was there wearing the same shirt from the film and Mick gave a small speech about his memories of Kai on tour before we all tuned in for a full-volume instalment of the extended cut.

All of your old favourite Q’s are there: Kai’s personal play count, his neg-factor on a loss and claiming waves 1km down the line. This bonus cut also features a few extra snippets that’ll be sure to give you an abdominal workout and perhaps even increase your respect for the one time Portugal Pro winner.

Find out why Kai kept returning to India, Kai’s power ranking mishaps and whether the boys think he’s a clinical comp surfer or big wave psycho.

Kai may be off tour now and unable to accuse the judges of underscoring, but according to Mick, Kai is now a full-time slab hunter and will continue to travel around Aus and the globe in search for left hand barrels and airport security. If that last line doesn’t make any sense you’ll just have to watch the clip and find out for yourself.
