Two Percenters Fire Warning Shot Ahead Of CT Season

Not everyone can go from Lowers bunny slopes to Hawaiian black diamonds.

Don’t let Crosby Colapinto putting his springsuit on backward fool you. The guy is a weapon at Pipeline.

We’ve seen it in DNA, and his Backdoor gem was the highest-scoring Pipe/Backdoor ride during the 2021 digital Vans Triple Crown. The above Cola Bros video offers more evidence of Crosby’s comfort level in hucking himself over North Shore reefs.

Four of the 10 men who qualified for the 2024 Championship Tour via the 2023 Challenger Series are Two Percent members: Crosby, Cole Houshmand, Kade Matson and Eli Hanneman. In the above early season North Shore highlight reel, all of them wield their Mayhems with a tenacity that must make Matt Biolos shed a proud tear.

Based on the former three’s size and strengths (surefooted rail gouging) I would wager the big boys will fare relatively well in their inaugural CT events at Pipeline and Sunset, where big barrels and big turns are the money makers. And while Eli has a smaller frame, he’s arguably got more North Shore experience than the other three combined, so don’t count him out from a good result, either.

Lets just hope Croz gets a properly pumping heat with Griff — or three.
