Watch: Josh Hall And The San Diego Tradition
Raised under the watchful eye and outstretched wings of Skip Frye, Josh Hall is keeping San Diego glide alive
Here’s an unhurried few minutes with San Diego shaper Josh Hall, one of the few foam mowers lucky enough to have enjoyed the tutelage and friendship of Skip Frye.
From twin keels to long-fishes, Eagles to eggs, Josh has spent the last twenty years honing a craft passed down to him from one of the masters, and this little film from Single Fin Yellow and One California Day director Jason Baffa, and his wine brand Ziobaffa, makes for a lovely little portrait and history lesson on a very specific San Diego school of surfing and board building.
