Watch: French Pro Breaks His Nose Inside A Snapper Rocks Barrel
And then helps himself to seconds.
Snapper Rocks, usually a circus of its own, is currently playing host to the CT circus, meaning every tour pro and their lesser-ranked brethren are in the mix, trying to snag a little piece of what brochures sell as blue-watered, sand-bottomed heaven.
Justin Becret, 24, from Seignosse and ranked #72 on the 2025/26 Challenger Series, was one of them. Following an open-face carve, he tucked into a foamy barrel near the top of the point when a stray board (hardly visible in the footage) found his nose.

“I didn’t see it either,” Becret told Stab. “The board was in the whitewash and it hit me straight under my nose.”
Justin was struck while still inside the tube. “It hit me so hard, I thought my tooth got knocked out.”
Thankfully, it hadn’t. He came out holding his nose in both hands and, instead of straightening out and heading for the sand, pulled into another smaller barrel.
“You don’t miss out on a barrel,” he said half-jokingly. “I saw another one and just pulled in.”
This time, Justin’s left hand held his nose while his right hand clung to the face of the wave “to slow down,” he said with a little laugh. Again, he made it out before bringing himself and his broken nose back to shore.
For now, Justin’s nursing it and “putting paper inside” until doctors give him the green light to paddle back out.

Only days after Davide Lopez spent six days with a fin lodged in his face following a Supertubos mishap, Huey has delivered a sequel with a different cast but similar themes. If your own board doesn’t punch you in the face, someone else’s eventually will.
Snapper remains delightful, of course.
